A simplified modelling framework for real-time assessment of conservative pollutants in ungauged rivers during cloudy periods

Recently, the optical remote sensing technique is effectively applied to monitor real-time water quality parameters at finer spatiotemporal scales that are mostly based on surface reflectance of satellite images. However, during rainy season due cloudy or hazy images, it a great challenge obtain reflectances and estimate pollutant concentration. This study specially focused developing novel approach daily-scale concentrations in ungauged rivers days. The developed integrates simplified physically-based VPMM-AD(?Dc) solute transport model with (RS)-based for assessing non-reactive river pollutants real-time. integrated VPMM-AD(?Dc)-RS tested simulating in-situ heavy metal (Fe, Zn, Cu, Cr, Pb, Cd) total suspended solid (TSS) Brahmani River tropical monsoon (rainy) seasons typical years 2010–2013. results reveal proposed performed reasonably well acceptable accuracy estimation considered reach period.
